Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale, a Nigerian American professional player who plays for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association. She played in the NCAA basketball tournament for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, prior to being selected by the Wings with the fifth overall pick of the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale's parents Yolanda Ogunbowale and Gregory Ogunbowale were born March 2nd, 1997 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mario Ogunbowale is her 26 year old brother and Dare Ogunbowale, 20 years of age. As the youngest of her siblings, she was the one who was most spoilt of her parents. Ogunbowale was crowned gold at the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championships and 2014 FIBA U17 World Championships as well as the 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championships. The 7th of July, 2014 was the day that Ogunbowale was named to the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale is also named for the ACC All-Freshman Team for her first collegiate campaign. Kobe Bryant even thanked her for her big shots during the NCCA Tournament. Ogunbowale may be new to basketball, but she has quickly established herself.
